Provincial nomination by province
Eleven provinces and territories run a PNP. Quebec selects skilled workers through a separate system, and Nunavut does not operate a nominee program. Stream names, occupation lists, and intakes change with little notice — this hub is a planning overview, not a live intake board.
BC
British Columbia
BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP)
British Columbia nominates skilled workers and entrepreneurs through the BC PNP. Skills Immigration is the worker pathway; Entrepreneur Immigration is for people who will start or buy a business. Some worker streams can be Express Entry–aligned. WelcomeBC changes occupations, registration, and pauses — confirm the live Skills Immigration guide before you register.
AB
Alberta
Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP)
Alberta nominates workers and entrepreneurs through AAIP. Worker streams generally need an Alberta job offer (Opportunity Stream, Tourism and Hospitality, Rural Renewal). The Alberta Express Entry Stream invites people already in the federal pool when they match provincial priorities, including dedicated health, tech, and police pathways when those are running.
SK
Saskatchewan
Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP)
Saskatchewan nominates through SINP: International Skilled Worker (including Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand when those sub-streams are open), Saskatchewan Experience for people already working in the province, and Entrepreneur / Farm streams. Occupation lists and SINP points grids are provincial — they are not the federal CRS.
MB
Manitoba
Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)
Manitoba nominates skilled workers with a connection to the province (work, study, or family), overseas skilled workers when a stream is open, international graduates of Manitoba schools, and business investors. MPNP uses its own expression-of-interest ranking — not federal CRS — except where a stream is Express Entry–aligned.
ON
Ontario
Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)
Ontario nominates people whose skills match the provincial economy through the OINP. As of the official OINP page in 2026, Ontario launched the Workforce Priority stream and listed earlier streams as closed. Do not rely on older Human Capital Priorities or Employer Job Offer guides until ontario.ca says they are open again.
NB
New Brunswick
New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP)
New Brunswick nominates skilled workers, graduates, and entrepreneurs through NBPNP, and also participates in the federal Atlantic Immigration Program. Many worker streams need a New Brunswick job offer or a demonstrated plan to live in the province. Compare NBPNP with AIP if you have a designated Atlantic employer.
NS
Nova Scotia
Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP)
Nova Scotia nominates skilled workers, international graduates, and some occupation-specific candidates through NSNP, and takes part in the Atlantic Immigration Program. Labour Market Priorities and physician streams (when open) are often Express Entry–aligned. Occupation lists and intake windows change with little notice.
PE
Prince Edward Island
PEI Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP)
Prince Edward Island nominates workers, graduates, and business applicants through the PEI PNP and participates in the Atlantic Immigration Program. Labour Impact and Express Entry categories are the usual worker routes. Island intakes are small — Expression of Interest draws are posted on the PEI government site.
NL
Newfoundland and Labrador
Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP)
Newfoundland and Labrador nominates skilled workers, international graduates, and entrepreneurs through NLPNP, and participates in the Atlantic Immigration Program. Job-offer worker streams and an Express Entry skilled-worker option are the usual routes. Confirm whether a stream is open on the provincial immigration site before you apply.
YT
Yukon
Yukon Nominee Program (YNP)
Yukon nominates workers and business applicants through the Yukon Nominee Program. Most worker streams are employer-driven: a Yukon employer must support the application. An Express Entry–aligned option exists when Yukon is using it. The territory is small — expect tight employer and residence requirements.
NT
Northwest Territories
Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NTNP)
The Northwest Territories nominates workers through employer-driven streams and has an Express Entry option when it is running. Business / entrepreneur nominations exist for people who will operate an NWT business. There is no Nunavut PNP — NTNP is only for the Northwest Territories.
