Accredited Employer Work Visa
Overview
The Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) lets accredited New Zealand employers hire overseas workers for roles they cannot fill locally. It is the main temporary work visa for skilled migrants and often the first step toward residence via Green List Work to Residence, Residence from Work, or the Skilled Migrant Category.
Eligibility Requirements
- Job offer from an Immigration New Zealand accredited employer
- Role meets AEWV skill and wage requirements for the occupation
- Employer has completed required job checks / labour market steps where applicable
- You meet English, health, and character requirements for the visa
- You hold the qualifications or experience the role requires
Application Process
Employer becomes (or already is) an accredited employer with INZ
Employer completes a job check for the role where required
You receive a job token / offer and apply for the AEWV online
Provide identity, skills, health, and character evidence
Work in New Zealand on the AEWV conditions
Plan your PR pathway (Green List, Residence from Work, or SMC) while on the AEWV
